They say 2-3secs is enough to blow the apex seal. What do you mean by symptoms ? If apex seal goes, you will only be running on 1 + 1/3 of the motor - loss of power and if chirp went through the turbos then loss of boost also.
I wouldn't know how detonation sounds like on a rotary engine.

No it's not Turbo'd
It takes less than that (I know) It's as simple as Ping ... Gone....
Divide 4500 By 60 and you have roughy the time it takes to blow a seal....
Symptoms usually on the mild side, are minor loss of compression on two of one the rotor faces... and at worst. no boost (Apex got through the turbo and bent fins.) and **** poor if any idle.. and very little tourque... Also if you have a descent boost gauge, you can see the fluctuation in vacuum at idle....

Yea, I think I pinged twice or three times, I heard it once at 6000 RPMs and then looked at my PFC and I saw the knock level shoot higher then ever, I think it was maxed out. Once I saw that I backed off, It felt like a slight loss in power or ignition cut when this was happened. I also heard a few ping/pong sounds. So I think I detonated. This happeded last night. I will check my vaccum at idle for fluctuations and watch for a rough idle. So if I did damage the seals will the engine compression slowly get worse and may be the damaged seal could score the housing? I should go get a compression test now. To bad I don't know what my compression was prior to this. More input on this would still be helpful.
