Defroster Vent Install Problem

Finally bought new defroster vents from Ray's March Madness Sale.

Driver side went in fine, but passenger side won't. I can start it at the thin end and it will go in until the very last clip and pin. Or I can start it from the wide end and it will all go in until the last clip on the thin end.

Nothing is in the way, no old pieces.
I've heated the area and the vents with the defroster on, still same problem.

has anyone figured this out, hate to break the brand new ones after waiting to get them.

Thanks,

i bought a new set from ray too but haven't installed. compare the new and old side by side? maybe a piece of extra material was left on your new vents.

Ok, finally got both in. If you get stuck on one, try starting from different clips and work your way out. Finally hit on the right one and it's in now.

BUT -- the center piece won't go in. I've lubed the prongs, there are four compared to the one I had left on the old one and the fit will be super tight IF I can figure out how to get it in. Both vents have to be in first because there are tabs that go under the center piece

Make sure you don't have the center piece backwards.

Also try to do it when the weather is warm. (Don't rub it in - you're in florida) But cold days and plastic interior parts don't mix.

I managed to get mine in and it did take some bending of the parts. It was also summer. I despise working with interior parts. It never fails that I will usually break something. Good luck.
