Definitive boost control with minimal mods

I want something that will keep boost at stock levels with the following mods: apexi intake, effini y-pipe, hks downpipe, and racing beat cat back. However, I would like said control method to be usefull later down the line as I continue to upgrade to a stock mount intercooler, then eventually to a power fc and a single turbo. I heard the apexi avc-r is a great boost control for upping the boost, but will it be suitable for locking in stock boost levels and preventing spiking? What about external waste gate use? Where would I put that thing, anyway? Or, if I can get the cash, should I just get the Power FC (key word being if on this one)? Yes, I am paranoid. I don't want to rely on the "three mod rule" or anything like that. I want to be sure my boost levels stay stock. I want to avoid pulling everything out just to port the stock waste gates if at all possible. Any suggestions or past experiences will be much appreciated. I don't want to shell out cash on a control method that will just become a paper weight on my work bench later as I continue to upgrade.

Profec B, at least the "spec 1", is really good for controlling the twins or a single turbo. On top of that, it's cheap.

That's the Greddy one, right? I took a look at it, but it seemed rather basic (not always a bad thing). If the AVC-R is capable of doing the same and more, I'll shell out the extra cash. I just don't know anyone who has used it on an almost stock set up. Thanks for the reply. I will consider the Profec B. Isn't it just a low or high boost switch? So I'm assuming low would keep it at stock boost level. I heard the major problem seems to be spiking at the transition between primary and secondary.

Do a search on Profec. I have the Profec B spec 1 on a mostly stock car and its fantastic. Its the best mod I've done since it allows me to drive the car safely w/o worrying about watching boost. I was not able to control boost and spikes very well relying solely on my Power FC.

Hoe that was helpfuel.

I have the avc-r and i love it, Ive have completely dialed up the boost transision.

not to mention the other cool stuff....the only thing about i dont like, the speed input dosent work most of the time, it just jumps all over the place, itsent accurate at all..but hey the main part works great

The power fc didn't help control boost well enough to get rid of spikes? Whoa. I thought that thing was the cure all for engine management issues. I'm trying to hold off on getting a pfc because of the price, and I've looked at the instructions and don't think I'll be able to tune it myself. I'll be moving to Chicago in a few months, so then I'll have a reputable shop nearby. Until then, I'm avoiding it.
