Is it possible to change the color of the defi link gauges? I was thinking of opening them and seeing if I can slip one of those condom things over the light bulb.

I have most of them in stock or on the way to me.
Let me know if you need them.

Defi D gauges. They're amber backlit and match the dash almost exactly.

I've seen those auctions already and that seller in Holland only has the gauges in white face, and I wanted black to match. Prices *are* nice though.

i think the miatas are backlit green... and i wonder if the signals for the bose speakers are the same?? we have a center channel in the FD and the miata doesnt... i wonder if other mazda head units would be compatable

i think that the millenia also uses a bose unit... i wonder what color their backlighting is....

ok im thinking boost and fuel pressure on the a pillar. what do you think??

also how do you guys feel about relying on the stock oil pressure gauge?

and how do you feel about relying on the stock water temp gauge (if the linerization mod was done, and i were to add tick marks to the gauge face??)

if i can keep the stock water temp and oil pressure, i could do 2 on the a pillar and 3 in a center channel pod.

hey i was thinking something crazy (because i like doing stupid things)... well i really like the center channel speaker... just for kicks really... but if its not too deep i wonder if i could mount in in the ceeling behind the sunroof pointing down? hehe, sorry its late and stuipd rediculous ideas are floating through my head

I brought this up a while ago before I acutally had the gauges sitting in my hands. At least one other person was interested in it as well, so you're not alone.

Unfortunately, the bezels are sorta press-fit over the body. I don't want to f' em up on an experiment -- and for what they cost, I don't think anyone else will either. They are LED-lit, so condoms wont work, you'll have to replace the LEDs. If you want to rip them apart and beat up the bezel, go ahead, and take plenty of pics of the insides!

I heard the bezel's can be taken on and off with no problems??? Is that true? And if so, is the lip a nice silver finish? Also is there still a shortage issue?

Yep, the bezel pulls right off and pops right back on - easy as pie. The lip is silver but it's nothing special, kinda an "aluminum can" type of silver. Yes, there is a shortage issue (mainly with the boost gauges), the WRX boys snap these up too, so if you find a vendor that actually has them in stock, buy them ASAP! I waited two months for mine and I've heard of some people going on six!

looks really clean... which tripple pod is that ??? only thing is it seems to block a bit of visibility on that side of the car... is it just the angle of the shot? or is it really a problem? it seems like a signifigant loss of visibility from that angle...

i've got a few questions. where can i find the panel kit to put gauges in where the heat/ac controls are? i don't have heat or a/c so i don't NEED the center console part. are there any problems with that setup or is it pretty strait forward? are there any permanent changes required?

It's still going to tell you that you're running hot, low pressure, etc. Maybe you can show off to everyone that you got her up to 250 F. Otherwise, if you peak, you peak. Not necessarily necessary to recall that you peaked sometime.

As far as warning lights, the whole point to put them in is to monitor. I'd hope that people dumped gauges in to actually monitor things, not just for looks. Admittedly I was looking for form with the function, that's why I got the d-gauges too. For my need, they work. I can still monitor well enough. As far as recording, if I really need to, I've got a datalogit, so there's my recall feature.

Not bashing, just looking from another point of view.

As Frank for that pic of mine. I've got his tri pod in the center spot too with boost, oil press and water temp. Looks good.
I was referring to the BOOST gauge actually. If you overboost, how would you know with the D series? You wouldn't until it's too late. With a WARNING light at least you know that something's wrong. With NO warning light it's too late.

To be honest, I think the fuel pressure gauge is one of the MOST important gauges that people forget to buy.

True story: I had purchased a supra pump and put it in the tank, and went single turbo(62-1). Not a huge turbo, and I "figured" that the fuel pump was adequate enough for my needs(at the time). I had a hard time tuning the top end of some gears(wideband was showing erratic a/f's from 11.0 to 11.7 at times) I asked around and one of my good friends told me to check my fuel pressure....but no fuel pressure gauge. So I bought one and found that after 5000 rpms my fuel pressure would DROP! Ran 2 pumps and had constant fuel pressure past 9000 rpms...and my a/f's kept constant.

I know a few friends of mine that had their GT-R fuel pump fail on them and if they didn't have their fuel pressure gauge....they'd be getting another engine.

Of course...with a "stock" car, there is probably no need for a fuel pressure gauge, but once an aftermarket fuel pump goes in....I'd go ahead and purchase a fuel pressure gauge just in case.

It's a 94+ Integra pod...I had to trim it to make it fit but you can't tell it wasn't made for the FD....However, I belive there is a tripple pod made for the FD now...Don't know who.....It was the angle the shot was taken from...I took it from the top of the A-pilar so that's why it looks like they are infront of everything....I am super pleased with them...

Here's a very out of focus night shot...I would have prefered to have matching lights to the stock but it's a nice contrast to be honest. (or am I just saying that to justify that I have mismatched lightes in my cockpit?)

Haha, you noticed those are Link gauges! I was going to put a disclaimer stating they were but I was too lazy to type it out. Anyway, you get the idea, right? And BTW, the bezels *are* removed.

P.S. You never answered me whether you were going to buy my Integrals. You want 'em or not?
