Decided to Dyno my car today....

Ok here's the story....

Currently my car is untuned and running on my old PMS EFI maps and I just recently put on about a good 2,000 miles on my new ported J-Spec motor with 3mm seal by Tri-Point (Yes, they charge you an arm and a leg, but they get the job done). Anyways me and Mark had an agreement on building my motor if I did some advertising for them, so why not. My mod list is longer then hell, so if you have any specific questions about my build up, just ask.

The reason why I dynoed my car untuned was just to see where my car stands now, and when I get it tuned in about 2 weeks, I want to see how much better my results will be as well. If I can reach my goal of atleast 360 to 380 rwhp I will be happy, and then spray it to **** (Nitrous 50 shot) and see if I can get it to over 400 rwhp just for kicks. If the turbos go, I dont care, I've had a TO4E in my garage for like almost a year now waiting to go in, just been lazy to install it.

Anyways this is basically how it stands:

My car boosts spuratically up to 12 psi, falls to 11 or 10 and holds at around that point.

My rev limiter is set at 7500 rmp (old maps)

The run was also done on 91 Pump gas, and it was freakin hot

Oh, I had ignition issues *** well, so my Torque is alittle messy, but my A/F seemed fine

and here are the results:

Decided to dyno my untuned new motor today...

Here are the results:

here were the conditions:

I just recently put 2,000 miles on my newly rebuilt 99 J-spec motor by Tripoint with 3mm seals, and alittle more "aggressive porting." I know they cost an arm and a leg, but when no one else can do it, they get the job done! Plus me and Mark had an agreement with my motor build-up as long as I do some advertising for them. So, since I will be getting my car tuned in about 2 weeks, I thought I might see where the car is at now, so when the car is properly tuned, hopefully it will be making somewhere from 360 to 380 rwhp, which is what Im shooting for. And if that happens I will spray the **** (Nitrous, Thanks NX!) into it and see if I can get it to or above 400 rwhp. If I lose the turbos, thats ok, I have had a To4e sitting in my garage for almost a year now waiting to go in.

Anyways, this was all done on 91 pump gas on a really freakng hot day and the car stays more on boost at around 11 psi, spiking to 12 psi and as low as 10 psi from time to time on the primary turbos (yes, Im running sequntial!) and when secondaries hit, it stays at 12 psi. My rev limit is also set at 7500 rpm ( This will be fixed should fixed to 8000 rpm after the tune) as well and I had ignition issues during the run, which is why my Torque reading skips, however, I expect it to be around 305 TQ if it would have read correctly. I am pretty pleased with the result and hopefully will have a better dyno sheet soon once I get the car tuned.

Mods: Intake, Exhaust, Rims

Sweet, but aren't you running the JDM twins? I think you could hit 380hp tuned @14lbs.

Yes, still am, but Im going to be pushing them to 17 psi and see how they respond. I will have 3 boost settings: 12 psi, 14 psi and 16-17 psi, depending on how well the turbos can take it.

My mechanic got 387rwhp and I think 312rwtq on stock twins and a mild street port right around 15psi.

nice numbers. what fuel system mods (ie injectors, pump, lines) are you running? the a/f curve looks so rich before the transition. anything else besides the basic port, intake/fmic/dp/mp/cb, and untuned pms efi combo? i cant imagine what else could be on there that would make the mod list so long...

Question, how is a 12.6 A/F at peak torque on 91 octane safe?

actually im not sure since they couldnt get a good torque reading, since I was having problems getting the wideband to read my ignition to get a more accurate torque number. Dunno if that answered your question, but if you notice the Torque gets cut off and screwy thru out the pull.

I try to be vauge with my mod list just so I can feel "Special" , however, they are stock injectors for now which have been bored out by RC engineering, and I have no idea what oil metering line I put in, since I forgot .. seriously... but they are not OEM. I also have the K2rd fuel rail with the 1600 cc injectors as well, but I wont be adding it to this setup and wait till I go single...

Rikky was tuned, Im not.

Not taking anything away from what Rikky did and I believed his numbers from the start when people gave him ****. This just goes to show you that it can be done and possibly more.

I'm curious about the dangerous looking A/F??? With 91 oct.

Impressive machine, however!

2 runs - Run 004 looks real funny, but the A/F looks a lot safer. Nice curve on 006.

The question (I think) was directed more towards the 12.6:1 A/F ratio in the upper rpms.

That doesn't sound safe, but what do I know? 3mm seals can handle knocking better (I think that's the purpose of them) but from what I gather 12.0:1 A/F is aggressive?!?!?!

edit to above post: i meant to ask why the a/f looks so LEAN before transition, not rich. sorry about that. you should probably put in those 1600cc injectors early, marvin, your a/f at low rpm's looks pretty dangerous, especially since you got your new motor.
