decelerating stutter

say your not even in gear, cars parked and you rev the motor up and then release the gas pedal. shouldn't it decelerate smoothly with one gradual note? mine tends to not be so smooth and the rev needle will almost pause at certain points really quick as it's moving down. not to mention the exhaust note stutters as it's doing so. what could be the problem here?

sounds to me like maybe a kink in the throttle cable somewhere. or maybe the butterfly vavle on the thottle body needs a little lube.
