You mentioned "only" 15,000 being imported into this country. Go on Autotrader.com and look at how many FDs are for sale there. Last time I checked, there were over 200 available across the country. Most were selling for under $20k. The FD may be rare when you compare it to an Accord or something, but with that many on the market... Seems like supply is outstripping demand to me.
The point is, I think the FD is an incredible car, but I'd be very surprised to see it become a collector's item. At least, not within the next 20 years.

Low miles and condition have alot to do with the price. I recently purchased a 93 with 12300 miles on it in mint condition for 26k. The dealer had a couple of others with many more miles on them that were considerably cheaper - but I am not a mechanic and in the near term it will be my daily driver.
As life would have it, this morning I chose not to drive my car because of a freezing rain/snow forecast for metro Chicago and the possibility of a fenderbender and my wife backs into my FD exiting our driveway!

its probably a bit high. I bought a 94 w/ 19kmiles and only maintenance mods in excellent condition for $23.8. Given the changes that were in place I'd have a hard time buying a 93 for more w/ only a 10k mile difference. If it was an R1 - a big maybe...

I am NOT selling the car. I could only dream of owning an FD with that little mileage. It's a dealer a ways from my house that's selling it. I wanted to post the link so I could get opinions. I guess the general feeling is that it's priced too high. I'm looking for an FD more in the 12k-14k range.

about 2-3 years ago there was a guy in st louis trying to sell a white 95 with only a couple hundred miles on it for 48,000!!! It was in the trader for a long time.

Personally, I wouldn't fork out 30 Gs for a car with 10K miles. I'd pay 15-20 tops for a car with like 50K miles that was well maintained...
The saddest part is that someone is probably going to buy it and total it in a few thousand miles. Or totally mess up its uniqueness by modding the hell out of it and slapping some nice FnF-style go-fast stickers and wings on it...

The only thing I can see justifying that price is the fact that it is Black/Red. Although some may not like this combo, it is extremely rare. Otherwise I think the price should probably be more like $25k.

imo, 10k miles is not that low..maybe if it was a couple thousand miles i'd buy it for that much. being a 93 also devalues it like others have said. seriously, difference between a 10k and a 30k, 40k or 50k mile car is not that big. not worth the premium.

it's worth it if you're going to store it like the previous owner. Otherwise I see no point of spend $30k on a car that you'll probably modify or daily driven. Even though this car has less than 10k miles, trust me there will be stuff that you'll have to replace (shocks, hoses, bushings...)

that's a whole lot of money for a '93 touring with red interior(no disrespect to those with red interiors). Now if it was a CYM or '95 R2, you could better justify that price.

No, its bogus, I looked at this car on tuesday while buying a water pump, there is no way there is that much wear on the leather driver seat that we all know about when a car has only that many miles, its clearly been rolled back, that was the first thing I looked at was the seat by the belt...

Yes, it is still for sale. Price is $55,000. No pics at the moment, but I
can shoot some digital pics and e-mail them - when I get back from Japan.
I'm leaving in the morning for 15 days there, and will return on March 8.
I haven't advertised it except for this web site and one other. I bought it
new in December 93, and it has stayed garaged and covered since. Occasional
drive to work to keep the fluids circulated in the drive train and air
conditioner. I bought it to be a collector's car, and have kept it that
way. The only mod is the factory spoiler. So it looks like any other brand
new black 1993 RX-7 with a spoiler and the touring package.
Now that I'm into Corvettes, I'd like to find a really nice vintage
Corvette (prefer a 62, 63, or maybe a '67 427). But if I want one of those,
I have to sell the RX-7 to make room (and keep the peace!).
I'm located in Palmdale, California, about an hour north of Los Angeles.

I grabbed the VIN off there and ran a carfax. It came back clean with their $5,000 guarantee. No odometer rollbacks. Also has had the fuel line and brake hose recalls performed.

I dunno about that. Low milage can sometimes be just as bad as high milelage.
When I bought my FD the owner had just replaced the engine at 48 thousand.
The owner took EXTREMELY good care of his car, when I bought it, he gave me two huge accordian files FULL of everything the car had EVER. (plus some really neat orginal 'zine articles about the car) The guy looked like he was about to cry when he saw the car pulling out of his driveway for the final time. He loved that thing, and so do I
Anyway long story short, when the engine was rebuilt, the cause was determined to be that the engine wasn't driven enough. This guy biked to work every day and only put 9k miles on it in like 6 years.
The engine needs to be driven every now and then to keep it healthy.

I saw the car about a month or 2 ago, and we had a thread going on it long ago.... The sale person told me $26,000 and it was mine while I was there. The car is absolutely worth the price if you want a very nice FD. I doubt you'll find a better for sale any time soon. only 9k on the odometer.
I sat in it, looked under the hood and all around, the car is absolutley immaculate. If you have the money, and want an FD, don't hesitate to pick up this prime example.

Yea its nice but its got more than 9k miles no doubt, and it has that nasty chip coat sticker all the way around it and on like 6 inches of the hood, the drivers seat is a dead give away that it has more than 9k...

Check this out...a few months ago, I was surfing eBay for MKIV Supra pics, and I found a red 1993 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo that had been sitting in a dealership showroom for nearly ten years. It had only 63 miles. Pictures of the odometer were on the website (I should have saved them) and the car was going for...$63,000.
