I don't think I will buy my driver side handle used. Are they still selling these new at the stealers?

Yeah, you can get a good majority of the parts on the car. Parts prices usually go one of 2 ways - "Damn, that's WAY cheaper than I would have thought!" or "You gotta be kidding - HOW MUCH?"

Call Ray at Malloy Mazda and ask him. He'll be happy to look it up for you, and that will easily tell you if it's worthwhile or not.

It's hard to beat BRAND NEW parts though. Nothin' like that baggie with the Mazda sticker on it .

Hey Dale,

Thanks for the info! Do you have the number to Ray handy by any chance? Does he give discount for purchase over the internet?

Contact info -

Ray Crowe, Malloy Mazda
1-888-533-3400

He specializes in Internet parts sales, and gives VERY substantial discounts over typical dealer price. He knows parts like you wouldn't believe, too. The only way you'll get stuff cheaper is Mazdacomp, which is definitely worth doing some autocrosses for .

Really, there's no good reason to ever buy any part from the local dealer. The only things I've ever bought are VERY cheap and in-stock items (AC o-rings that are like a few cents each) or stuff I needed RIGHT NOW, like a thermostat. 9 times out of 10, the local parts guy won't know what you're talking about and will gouge you on the price. Dealers make a KILLING off parts!

BTW, Mazdatrix charges near-dealer-retail on most of their parts. Nice guys, but not the cheapest source for parts.

Dale
