just buy it back and slowly rebuild it back to the way it was, doesnt have to be right away if you dont have all the cash

Hello everyone my name is Anthony and I am the dealer who bought the car. I have joined this community in hopes of finding new resources to rebuild this great FD and chat with fellow auto enthusiasts. I hope you all understand that I have read the whole story behind this car and feel for the original owner but unlike the kid he sold the car to, I plan on restoring it and keeping it for a shop car. I have always been a big fan of FD's and this is basically the route I wanted to take with one. The only exterior mods I will add are C-west sleek headlight conversion, Feels side skirts and new wheels(only because his old ones are all banged up). Just for the record, the car will still have a clean title and I plan to keep the car in my showroom and occasionally drive it. I will also upgrade the turbos but have not decided which way to go there. Feel free to pm me or post any questions you might have, however, i will not part the car but I promise that when I decide to sell it, this community will be the first to know. The car is in good hands people and when the rebuild is completed I will post pics.

Thanks,
Anthony M

Ditch the headlight kit and sideskirt ideas, rebuy new or used Spirit R wheels from FDNewbie and bring this car back to the awesome state it was in before it was wrecked. But, then again, it is your car now. Good luck and have fun.

I think you'll get way more respect for turning the car back into what it was, not something else. I hope you restore it back the way it was!

^ +1 on that. We don't see many Spirit R copies like that around. It'll be nice to see it restored the way it was before the crash.

Yup, the feed side skirts would look good, but PLEASE don't install a flush light kit. Yuck.

Thanks for all the feedback and I can respect everyones opinion. This car almost seems like family around here so I will take it into consideration and although it is my car now, I have no problem with other people's advice on the exterior. I will definitely be upgrading the performance though and don't see myself steering away from that path and that is another reason for upgrading the wheels so I can go wider in the rear.

Congrats on the purchase. Clean title? Probably because you are in Texas?

Don't go with the fixed light kit, of course just my opinion.

The stock twins can push some pretty decent performance.

I have a highly mint set on hand which may become available in two weeks for $4000OBO if the current buyer decides not to move forward. Shoot me a PM if you are interested and I'll let you know if they become available for purchase.

You can buy the suspension parts used here in the Parts for Sale sub forum or call Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda. Check the FAQ thread stickies in this forum for his phone number. He hooks us all up with discounted prices.

Congrats on the car. Keep us posted on the progress.
