Dash lights stay dim!!! can't see

Well guys I need some help on this one...I threw this question out a while ago but lost track of it and now that I got the FD out again I remembered that I cant see at night!!!

here goes:
- had the stereo installed by a shop and after that when the lights are turned on the dash lights come on but are very dim...the dimmer switch does not respond...the stereo is bright and not affected by this...seems the stereo works well...

could not go back to the shop as my engine went and had down time...plus I dont trust them!!!

I read some time ago that the FD has a different wiring setup and briefly read that if power is diverted( by stereo install) the dash lights can be affected...did I read this or hallucinate this!!! cant find that link again...

I like nuts and bolts!!!wires drive me nuts!!!

let me know

Thanks in advance

I had this same problem. I replaced the dimming switch and that fixed it.

Have you checked the dimmer plug ?

Test it with a multimeter.
