Dash Lights Shorting Out...Your Imput
Well my combination/lights/blinker switch has a problem. The lever/switch has wires underneath that are shorting out. When this happens it causes my dash lights, along with tail lights, to go out.
Its shorting out right at the spot where they come out of the lever. I am wondering if anyone has dissasembled this lever/switch before to re splice these wires? And does anyone know how to disassemble this switch? I tried pulling it apart, but I didn't use too much force, cause I didn't want to break it. If I could just get to the bad wires I would solder them back together to eliminate this problem.
If the above answer is no, then where could I buy a replacement? Anyone selling one from a parted out car?
It looks like kind of a pain to totally replace the switch as I would have to remove the whole steering wheel to get to the screw that is holding it on.
THANKS
