Smile Damn!...It Lives!

Well Folks, the car started this weekend. Had to terminate some wires on the harness by the ecu. It is not the engine harness, front or dash harness but the harness that connects them all together.

Still having problems though:

1) Under vacuum, the car runs very well 'til it hits boost-usually after 5psi then it stumbles terribly with a screeching sound loud enough for the car next to me to hear. Sounds like the BOV is "weezing"

2) Sending the harness to KD to complete and check for correctness...instruments are not working properly and I think that it is due to the x-07 and x-14 (dash connectors) improperly terminated. If anyone can help it is 12 wires...but they do not much the same wires on the auto...actually only about 6 of them do and not sure if they are supposed to be connected.

pertinent mods:

SPEC 8.5# flywheel
pettit unlimited
p/s and a/c intact

Props man on troubleshooting and getting it up and running again!

It looks like the conversion will be a success shortly...I'm interested in a total cost for the project if you don't mind sharing. I remember a thread awhile ago with some tension over costs...

Looking back the tension about the swap is silly....but I found it expensive. EJMack did it for under 1k. The conversion costed me far more...once all is done I will tally the cost.

Btw, the engine will boost just fine to 10-12 psi (I have a dave dawes boost controller--maybe that is what is causing stumble?)

I also have a bunch of codes...split air (wtf is that?) speedometer sensor (6), fuel thermosensor, solenoid....and a few more with the solenoids.

This occured with running the car with the dash harness disconnected.

Actually, it just dawned on me...because of the codes the car may be in limp mode...runs horribly around 5psi...stumbles and makes some schreecing sound.

JONSKI:

As knowledgeable as you are about FDs you should have no problems doing the conversion. I will be right there to help you or anybody else. I have learned everything the hard way...including setting the diff.

I'm missing something here. Is this a auto-to-manual conversion?
