Cut in muffler to replace MP?

I've heard a couple people talk about welding in a edelbrock (or some other muffler) to replace the MP and one person who has done it. So basically you have like 2 mufflers and it should still flow very well right? Whatre everyone's thoughts on it?

Advantages other than less noise? Drawbacks? Does it flow as well?

Who has done it?

Thanks

I think more people use a Borla XR-1 Muffler welded into a midpipe to lower noise a bit...Should flow just as well... It's straight thru...

I plan on doing this soon. My friend has a RB20DET and he wants a straight thru so I'm going to cut out his submuffler and weld in my straight thru.
