Cut ABS wire to HUB

Cut ABS wire to HUB
My abs light is on and I found that a wire looks to have been cut on the front hub by the previous owner.
Not sure why they did that. What's the best way to fix this? Not sure how far back the harness goes or how to go about repairing. Haven't checked other wheels to see if its like that on all.

The BEST and EASIEST way to fix your problem is to purchase a used ABS sensor from the classifieds section and replace it. The connector for the abs wire is easy to find, just trace your cut wire through the fender liner area into the bay. The connector is right on the other side of the wheel well. The sensor is held in place by one bolt ( and some rust sometimes) and two bolts on the control arm for the wire bracket.

Thanks a ton. Is there a sensor on the hub that is separate from the harness going from the abs unit to the hub? I know the harness is cut, I dont know if the sensor is missing or there and damaged, if there in fact is a separate sensor. thanks for your help!
Also I was told that passenger and driver side are not interchangeable.
Does the ABS only exist for the front wheels or also for the rears? Thanks

The FD has 4 wheel speed sensors (1 each corner). The sensors are little magnets that read pulses from a notched ring that is on the front hubs and rear axles (how it tells the speed and lockup). On the front there will be a black wire that comes into the wheel well behind the shock and then is bolted to the front of the control arm with 2 12mm bolts. That is the ABS sensor. You should then see that wire go to the back side of the hub/brake and be bolted to the hub with a single 10mm bolt. If that's not there for you, then there will be a hole about the size of a quarter on the back side of your hub and a small threaded bolt hole above it.
The front sensors are indeed not interchangable left to right as they are molded to the brackets that bolt to the control arms. I've never successfully soldered ABS sensor wires back together and had to replace one in the past when it stopped working.
