Custom Single Turbo
What would I need to do to put in my own single turbo "kit"? If I get a manifold, turbo, wastegate and downpipe... what else will I need? I'll need some kind of pipe made to go to the SMIC (until I get that upgraded) but that's all I know of. I don't know the sizes of the oil and/or coolant lines. I'm a do-it-yourself'er, so I'd like to try it myself before taking it to someone.

Yellow Dragon is no more
other items:
gaskets for manifold & turbo
oil and coolant hoses and fittings
BOV
air filter for turbo
Now be sure you have fuel mods to support single turbo and I might suggest holding off till you get a new IC.

How would I make the oil and coolant lines/fittings? What sizes are they? I think Earl's would have all the parts to do it, I just don't know the lengths or sizes to make the hoses. I could handle everything else.

With all the questions that you are asking I think you would be safer buying a "kit."
Unless you know someone that can make you a good DP and piping from the turbo to the IC those can get expensive. Also you will save yourself alot of headache with the lines and such.

How do you like the T04S kit from XS? That's the one I've been looking at. Did you have any troubles with it putting it in, perform like you expected?

The guys at XS installed and tuned it for me. It is a pretty straight forward kit. If you wanted to the piping runs so that you could even run the stock IC.
It isn't laggy at all....boost starts about 3,400 and once it hits!!!!! Plus the W/G dumps to atmosphere so when that sucker opens up you start scaring people.
XS has a great reputation with having lots of their car's in the top positions in the Import drag scene. Alos two of the guys who work there are rotary guys.
Pete is the one who put 497 rwhp on his T04S kit. This guy is crazy and has tried it all. He's on his 5th motor and is always looking for ways to find more power. Sometimes it is nice to know that they have their own cars to mess with and do trial and error.
I've know the guys at XS for years and can say this is the only shop that I feel comfortable leaving my car at.
