The most important thing with fiberglass is to use a good gel mold release and lay a nice and even layer of gel coat first. Of course the male part that you are taking the mold off of needs to be really good, and reduces the time you need to fix the mold later. The key with fiberglass is to not have voids in the lay up and to not have any air bubbles.

Any tips for would-be fiberglass fabbers? My attempts have sucked.

Where exactly can you purchase these Velocity LED's as I've been looking for quite sometime for something like you have for the 99 turn lights.

Cheers I'm ordering some as we speak but can't figure it out. I'm looking at the 194 - 4 LED's but I don't see a white one. Only Amber, Red, Green and UV??

Looks like really nice work on the fiberglass mold. I've worked with that stuff before and know what a time suck it can be to finish shaping the mold.

I've got a couple of questions, as like many others, I've been looking into a setup like this:

1. Do you recall what the overall dimensions (mostly length I'm interested in) of the NSX projector units were? Chuck at the now-defunct RE said that he was looking into making a kit, but gave up because the readily available 90mm Hella modules supposedly were too long and caused clearance issues. When I looked at the dimensions listed on the Susquehanna Motorsports/Hella site however, those dimensions didn't seem like they would be large enough to cause problems.

2. When you state in your original thread that you converted the NSX HID projectors to D2S bulbs, what were the original units? I was under the impression that most OE units at that time were D2S bulbs.

3. It appears from the photos of the parts on the table that you have mounting brackets for the front. What did you use for the rear of the projector units, or did you have any?

Thanx for any help you can provide, and apologies for the Spanish Inquisition post .

yea i agee with you on the HID from KS...... the cutoff is somewhat poor, my friend had the KS kit before he sold it

i do like your lenses very much tho, clean. and the bezel looks like stock.....

if you were to reproduce this... i'll buy a set, my friend is looking for some upgrades when he comes back from iraq and me, his wife, and another friend are looking to chip in on something for his FD

Kento,

The length of the projector housing is definitely the biggest constraint because the light connector connects in the back too, and the whole assembly needs to rotate up and down. That is why I haven't been able to hook up the High Beams yet. I'll get you some measurements of the projectors either tonight or tomorrow. It is roughly 5" long for the low beam and 6.5" long for the high beam.

As far as the NSX bulbs, they are factory D2S.

As far as the rear mounting bracket, it isn't something that I am very proud of right now. It is connected with a bracket right in the middle of the projector to the top of the headlight housing.

I clicked this link expecting to see something like "Oh look, someone invented a 10 year old headlight kit "

But actually, that looks way better than the other kids offered I have first dibs if you ever make a complete kit!

IR Performance? Have a look at my neglected, formerly ghetto rigged car which will probably still be in Ihor's driveway by then. These guys have basically redone EVERYTHING under my hood. bastard former owners.
