Cusco 3 point strut for rear

Looks like the 3 point systems are really trending right now... but I just saw this, for people with the Cusco rear strut bar here is an add on piece.

My opinion is they are a waste of money. Whats the advantage of the 3 point over the 2 point bar?

hang on, i just looked at it. . . sorry. the only thing i could see that thing do is relieve some stress off of the strut bar. the purpose of 3 point is to spread out the stress. . . of the car. that thing is set up in a linear formation. POS if you ask me.

I think someone would need to do a test to determine whether there is any added rigidity by anchoring that bar on the floor there. They'd need to see if there was any flex on the chassis by (somehow) seeing if the center point on the strut bar and the corresponding point on the floor are ever out of alignment during any conditions (more than likely hard cornering, braking, and acceleration). I dunno how to do that, but if someone could figure it out, it might be worth it.

For the price, it's probably not a bad deal, considering you get a regular strut bar with it, and it looks like you can disconnect the other stuff if you want.

Although I have yet to see this bar on an FD, I did see this bar on a 240sx and here are my thoughts.

On the 240sx, the extra bars attach to a mounting plate. The mounting plate is then attached to the floor of the hatch area. Well, unforunately, the floor of the hatch area is not reinforced w/ anything. Basically, it is just sheetmetal. So in essence, the bars that mount towards the center of the floor do not have much reinforcement. It would be more beneficial IF you reinforced the floorpanel by welding a large sheet of a stronger metal and then attaching the mounting plate onto that.

That's what I was thinking
