If you set your cup in the indentation at the forward-inner-anchor of the passenger seat, and lean it back against the seat/trans-tunnel, it's almost like a terrible cup holder.
I only infrequently spill things with this method.
Passengers also make good cupholders.
The ones that clamp in the e-brake gap gets good reviews.

Attachment 483896[/QUOTE] I made one from an old aluminum Oakley display. It sits low enough not to interfere with passenger leg room and can easily be reached with a tall drink cup or 20 oz. bottle but It's not good for 12 oz cans. It's attached to the front inside seat mount bolt.

Yah until you drive 1500 miles in a weekend then you get kinda thirsty lol I agree with the drinks that have caps on them, that or sticking them in the storage buckets behind the seats worked well with a sweater or something bunched up around them. I would use the one on the passenger side rear and the passenger would use the drivers side. Kinda fumbly at highway speeds but after 6 hours in the car you don't really care

Awww man, I forgot about that awesome coin slot in the Taurus - first car I drove, the coin tray is actually pretty neat.
The ebrake mount makes me nervous. Aquarium heaters use the same type of friction mount, and I worry about it not being strong enough for a pair of drinks and slipping off
Edit; a wife with two hands is the answer.

Not trying to troll, but I'm of the old school mind set that IF you need cup holders... then you don't need an RX7. This car should not be babied around the corners where a cup holder could hold a drink up right. Just saying... If you are thirsty in the FD, then put it between the passenger sear and the tunnel.... there's a spot there on the left side that is perfect for a 20oz bottle drink... but let's be realistic... If you are driving the car as you should be... by the time you are thirsty so will your FD. ...just saying.

His only thirst is for speed. You see, he is living his life a quarter mile at a time going full throttle EVERY SINGLE moment he is driving his car. Traffic? More like Gymkhana practice! Once his car is put away and his animal desire for food and water kicks in he quickly devours his meal before, working off of pure instinct, humping the nearest full grown human until he literally passes out, exhausted. This is pretty much his normal routine for driving his RX-7, with the exception of the annual Race Wars, which is a whole different (and scarier) story.

I drive my car everywhere as well... and my cup holder is to get a bottle and put it either between my legs or like i said... passenger side, on the between the tunnel and the seat toward the front of the seat... works great.
