Question cruise controll on R1/R2

Has anyone installed a cruise controll unit from a touring model to R1/R2 model? I was just curious if this could be done and what parts would be required.

Thanks

Thanks for link, I know where it is located on a touring model but has anyone installed it on R1/R2? I can see how the unit would/should bolt on but what abt the on/off switch inside and the coast/resume/accel buttons. Has anyone done this before. What else would be required for the install?

BTW what material do you have around your IC, AST and the battery. It looks nice and clean

I've put cruise on my R2. The hardest part is cutting a hole in the steering wheel cover. The second hardest part is finding screws for the computer if you didn't get them. The screws for the two swtiches (steering wheel and on/off) are there, but the ones for the computer and actuator (under hood) are not, though the holes are ready.
The only thing mine doesn't do is light up the "cruise" light on the dash, I imagine it just doesn't have the bulb.
Just remember to disconnect the battery and wait over 1 minute before touching the airbag.

If you looked in that link, turbojeff added it to his car. The wiring is there, you just need the parts.

Your best bet is to find somone with a PEP/PEG/Touring and has removed it. Then you can get all the parts to bolt it up.

BTW, that wasn't my car (although it's pretty close) so I'm not sure what that cover is in the front.

Well, it's not an R1 if it came with leather and sunroof. All models came with AC.

The back part of the steering wheel cover is only $18 or something from the dealer. At least it was 2-3 yrs ago.

Anyway like others have stated, adding cruise is a plug in operation on a R1. I didn't get a tach from a cruise model and the "cruise" lighted area of a R1's tach is painted black from the factory. So I don't get a "cruise" light on when the cruise is engaged. Doesn't bother me.

I had no problems installing cruise on my R1. Got the parts from turbojeff about 4 or 5 months ago.
