Crooked willow intake dented my hood
Duane over at crooked willow seems ok although it did take a while for him to deliver my parts.I got this intake about five months back and I recently noticed after I fought this thing like a bear to make everything fit well.I even screwed the bottom down.It must have shifted up some because now I have a pin dent in my hood. I,m painting my car soon anyway but this just blows. Now Im going to either get rid of it or cut it down and make a new cover or something. Any one else ever encountered something like this with CWR products?

Man, th eunder side of my hood is scratches and stuff all over it, that wouldn't even stand out
Anyway, yeah I just got a new CWC intake, I had another one, but anyway, long story, but I'm on my second one.
I have to cut on mine to get it to fit, and it still doesn't fit exactly right, and the filters don't fit inside real well. I think the bottom hole is not placed right on mine at least, cause the filter could get more room with different positioning.
I've never seen an M2 one in person so I don't know how they fit.

I've got the pettit cold air intake and it seemed to rub the hood at first... so i went to the store, bought some cushion strips and now it works so much better. The intake temperature has stayed on avg. lower as well.
Just an idea.

My old M2 aluminum rubbed too...the top edge of the intake was burnished and the insulation under the hood was worn.
My CWR CF intake didn't rub too bad...the allen screw did leave an indentation on the insulation though. Also, the hood prop wouldn't clear the box to the clip.
Since I got my CF hood, the shop trimmed the CWR box to sit it forward a bit and lower. It doesn't rub now and the forward re-positioning allows the hood rod to clip properly, plus it gave more space for my RX-7 Fashion hard pipes (to the turbos).
