cracked radiator...

Just got my car delivered from the dealer where i bought it. It car here with NO gas. So i drive it about 1/2 mile from my house and put gas in it. Drive it 2 more miles and its smoking so i pull over and coolant is leaking everywhere. Diagnosis is that it had a crack in the radiator!!! anyone care to enlighten me on their thoughts? THe place i took it too didnt know **** about RX7's. saying that Koyo dosnt make radiators for an FD. MY ***!!! I couldnt take it anywhere else cuz i couldnt drive it. I think its the AST. could the motor have detinated?

I would say that it more than likely overheated rather than detonated. Unfortunately, overheating this engine can be very, very, bad. I would have a local rotary shop do a thorough diagnosis (i.e. check cooling system, compression test). If it doesn't pass, take it straight back to the dealer and whine like a lil' bitch until you get your money back.

If you in So Cal, there are quite a few good rotary shops around. Do a search and find one close (Tri-Point - Canoga Park, Mazdatrix - Long Beach, Rotary Performance - Gardena)

Best of luck

Coolant is leaking literally everywhere? You're gonna need to be a little more specific than everywhere, heh. Where was the temp gauge needle pointing when all this happened. Where did you take your car to? Take your car to MechTech or Independent Mazda in Escondido, they have a lot of experience w/ rotaries.
