CP Racing strut bar = Junk

I had recently purchase a slightly used CP racing triangular strut bar. My car is a R2 so I have the factory bar, but I just wanted something a bit different, and I thought the triangulated bar may add a bit of stiffness to the front end. Well I received it in today, and this thing looks like crap. 1st thing is that it is heavy, at least twice the stock bar. I expected a bit of weight increase though, so no huge deal. But the welds are among some of the worst Ive ever seen. The bar ends are open and unfinished , and just overall quality is extremely poor. I havent tested fitment yet to see how well it lines up. I am still planning on using it (not just going to throw money away), but its going to take me hours of welding/grinding, and refinishing to get it to where I would actually put it on my FD. Just thought I would give a heads up to anyone who is thinking of purchasing one.

Sure no problem. Here you can see the full bar, and then the ends and "welds". You cant really tell from the picture, but the plates that bolt to your strut towers are extremely un-finished, and have jagged choppy edges.

In the 3rd and 4th picture posted, are you sure it's not just painted gum holding the bar and strut plate together ? That does look kinda half assed.

CP has been screwing first gen owners for a long time now. Do a search in the bad guy section. I'm not surprised that their parts are pieces of **** as well

Your car is too nice to ruin with a POS strut brace like that. I'd stick with the stock R2 strut bar.

Just use stock. That biznitch is WAYYYYYYYY to ugly. Also if you do use it, keep the stock for resalve value cause that'll scare people away.
