Question Couple of quick midpipe questions...

I have the pettit SS downpipe and Apexi N1 Single CB I'm looking at getting the Apexi Intake and a midpipe.
Is a resonated MP sound about the same as a non-resonated MP w/ the N1 Silencer? If so I'll just get the Mindtrain MP and the N1 Silencer.... otherwise I'll get the pettit SS MP.

Anyone have these setups? How loud is it? suggestions?

tia, chris

The resonated MP isn't that loud, it's about the same as a hi-flo cat...

As for the MP with a silencer, first off IMHO the silencer looks stupid and it doesn't work too well. If you want to use a silencer, go to www.jegs.com and order a header/collector silencer and put it somewhere in your exhaust....then no one can see it and it also does a super job at creating back-pressure so you don't get boost creep with a MP....

the silencer for the N1 will take away too much power, and look really stupid. go with a resonated mp. they give the same performance as a regular mp, and will quiet it down a bit.

Ive heard some people say you actually lose a little bit of HP with a resonated MP over a regular SS MP. Can anybody who knows if this is true tell me.

I don't think the exhaust 'smells' with a MP. When you have a cat. you get that nasty burning smell especially when you floor it...but with a MP it's just straight gas smell, it's like standing at a gas station all day....and I love the smell of race gas, mmmmmmm

I don't see how you can lose more than maybe 1hp over a normal MP. The resonated is a straight pipe too, there is nothing hindering flow in it...it's just got a larger center section with a cheese grater around the diameter of it...
