Couple of gasket questions.

Well some new toys arove today! (thanks to Jason@rx7store.net) I got my AST, Apexi N1 CB, Pettit DP, Dual A-pillar pod (for my water and boost Defi gauges I got on friday) Efini y-pipe, and my Efini silver front and rear emblems. My Apexi Turbotimer and my PowerFC+Commander are in the mail too! O.. and my fluidyne rad is sitting in the garage waiting too lol.

I'm going to install the gauges when I get home and if I have time I was going to start on the DB, y-pipe and CB. I didn't get any gaskets for any of the parts. In case I don't get a response back from Jason tonight I was wondering. Jason said he was waiting for a gasket for the CB but I was wondering if I need gaskets for any of the other parts or can I just use the old ones (if there are any)? If I need gaskets for the DB or y-pipe I'll just wait and not start on that.

Thanks in advance
Chris

you need the gasket set for the ypipe for sure do to the bolt down connection on it. I think the turbo outlet gaskets are larger but don't quote me on that.

gaskets for everything

the Efini Y-Pipe should have come with the required gaskets. you'll have to check with jason on that.

also, i would think that the CB would have come with a gasket, but again, check with jason on that.

the DP will require 2 gaskets, which it probably doesn't come with. the one gasket that goes on the turbo manifold side is a $45 gasket from Mazduh

some people reuse old gaskets, but not me. i'd recommend replacing any used gasket. there's nothing i hate more than "re-doing" a job

good luck.....

Ok... good deal.. thats what I figured. Thank for the info. I know Jason said he was waiting on the gasket for the CB so I know whats up w/ that. I'll have to e-mail him about the y-pipe tho. Thanks again! I got fun stuff ahead of me... (just got my PFC+Commander in the mail today! )

I reused the gasket between the turbo and the down pipe. It is metal, and looked to be in good shape.

The gasket between the down pipe and the mid pipe literally fell apart.

The gasket between the mid pipe and the cat back was in ok shape, but I still replaced it.

I bought all my gaskets from Mazda. I don't think the cat back will come with one....

Later,
Patrick

I guess I'll just have to tear into it and find out lol. NOW that I think about it tho... the main cat was just replaced right before I bought it (couple of months ago) and they replaced the gaskets so theres a good chance they are ok! Hmm... thanks again everyone for you assistance!
