Could it be the clutch?

When I first get into boost and higher rpm(4500 or so)after my car warms up it sound like I have the clutch pressed in and its slipping. What could be the cause of this? It does it the first couple of times I get into boost and then doesn't do it again. Thanks

Either something (oil?) is leaking onto the clutch surfaces (and is burned off by the first few slipping episodes), or the clutch is on its last legs and doesn't grip sufficiently until it's warmed up by the slipping.

In either case you may need to change the clutch.

A more remote possibility is that the hydraulic clutch mechanism (master or slave cylinder, or clutch fork, etc.) is hanging up, giving an effect similar to slightly resting your foot on the pedal.

What type of clutch is it?

I just had this problem with a spec clutch kit. Of course I was putting a beating on it and heating it up from burnouts and track use, but once I got into full boost it would slip from 5500 on :\

Just a stock clutch, It didn't look like it was too worn...Well I guess I can replace it

A very knowledgeable friend recently told me that when the clutch starts to go, it will slip on secondary boost. Could be going.

IIRC, there was a TSB about some early ('93 & '94?) original-equipment clutch disks being fragile (don't start in 2nd, don't slip excessively, and other BS). Maybe yours is one of these.
