Cost of R1/R2 spoiler is insane!
This may have been asked before, so please point me in the right direction if you can.
In general I'm really a fan of just the R1 front and rear spoiler, I think it is classic and clean. Yet mazda wants 530.00 for the rear spoiler and that dosen't include the 'damper' for the trunk lid. So is there a cheaper place to get them? I read about the wings west one and heard that it has some fitment issues. I'll have a body shop paint and install the rear spoiler so maybe them having to do a little extra sanding and grinding with the wings west won't cost that much more. I'll also have to watch the FS section. Anyone have positive, and cost efficient methods of getting an R1/R2 spoiler? I'm not looking to go cheap, more not waste money unessecarily. Thanks for your help guys!

even the used ones have gone up in price. I bought an r1 spoiler used painted MB for $125. My black car I ended up paying $180 for one(both were in excellent shape). I think it is best to buy them used, because 9 times out of 10, they are painted and ready to go. I installed both of them myself.

I actually have one that I was about to put up for sale. It's a black stock spoiler and the paint is in excellent condition. If you're interested just pm me and let me know.

I bought an aftermarket rear spoiler from spoilersdirect for about $140 to replace the stock one my friendly neighborhood mazda dealer broke for me while it was at his shop.

Good luck finding one, im sure someone has one laying around. Mazda really should not sell them for that high of a price. Im sure few people actually would buy one for that price anyways.

Try the Racing Beat Type I
It's just like the stock R1, except on steroids.....I found mine in a junk yard in New jersey (online) for $275.00
I've had it for 4 years.

Go there and scroll down to the bottom of the page. You can choose your color and then order. Jason is a good guy that I have done business with a few times. I have nothing but good things to say about him. Hope that helps.
