cost for exacuating and refilling FD a/c?

My local shop told me it would probably cost about 130 to evacuate, check, and recharge the a/c system. I thought this sounded a bit high. How much have you paid to have it done on your FD?

dude r-12 is major expensive in my area..60-70 per pound (should need 2)...so 130 for a a/c charge and check is a deal...if you are empty. 95's use R-134..lucky bastards...

Oops...forgot to mention that I am already retrofitted for r134a. Is 130 unreasonable for 134a evacuation and recharge?

in that case go get a can at walmart and fill it yourself....

I've done it a few times, very simple...not believing the hype about evacuation and all that...but I still post my disclaimer...at your own risk
