Cosmo13B-RE advantages over the 13B-REW?

I have just bought a Cosmo13B-RE motor, and looking at the intake manifold, porting, etc. on it, it thearetically should be a more powerful engine than the FD engines. But specs from the cosmo show only 223hp?

Why is this - restrictive exhaust on the cosmo car? restrictive EMS? restrictive air intake? Does anybody know?

Does this motor have more potential than a 13B-REW because of the porting, larger diameter runners?

Thanks,
Feedback is appreciated

The RE ran lower boost / tuning than the REW. You are right, the RE cosmo does have more potential, just look at the size of the ports side-by-side with the REW...the cosmo ports are huge.

Whoa an FD owner in Durbz! The RE intakes are a big job to fit and you will lose mid low torque but gain higher torpue & hp

Well worth it though...i run Cosmo intakes on my car

yip, one of the 2 in durbz!
So the intakes dont swap directly? What doesnt match up, or what needs to be done to fit the Cosmo intake, upper and lower, to a REW?

Cosmo intake ports are bigger but the exhaust port sleeves aren't worth a crap. If you use 13b-re plates make sure to stick with the 13b-rew housings.

thanks, I'm probably gonna have the cosmo engine with REW side housings, and REW internal bearings, does this sound like a good setup?
