copper nuts for d/p??

a local vw enthusiast suggested that i use copper nuts to replace the existing one i had, since i needded new ones i decided to ty them out, they were only like .39 each, he said they were self locking and wouldnt back out. just trying to see if others have used copper nuts instead of OEM ones.

Copper ones are great for the exhaust since they are more corrosion resistant than stainless-steel. More importantly, they aren't as stubborn to remove since the copper doesn't "fuse" as easiely as stainless-steel.

Mercedes uses them on their exhaust manifolds, hence I use them too on my RX7

ya thats what my buddy told me too. he owns an independant shop that specializes in european cars. the only problem i have about the copper ones is that they seem very soft, but i shouldnt be a problem because i wont be removing the d/p for a while i hope...

Just FYI, The stock nuts are Inconel, not SS.

My RP downpipe came with cooper nuts and when replacing the motor I ordered a DP sutd kit that came with the same copper nuts.
