Alright thanks this is my last resort if all else fails. Going to be sucking down the cooling system this weekend with some pneumatic tool my buddy has.

Are you running coolant or just straight water? I just replaced my Tstat, water pump and sensors and I'm running straight H2O right now. My car definitely runs cooler with straight water and it's difficult to get it above 180F unless I drive it around & boost and then let it idle & heat soak.

Right now i am using just water until i get the system working properly, so i don't keep cycling coolant in and out of vehicle.

I kinda thought that after reading your thread. I'm running water for now until I know that I am free of any leaks (sure makes less of a mess vs coolant if you have any leaks). I found that it's more difficult to get the Tstat to open when running straight water (no coolant). If you can get it hot enough for the fans to kick in and then watch the temp drop (drawing air through the radiator) you'll know the thermostat is opening. If the temps do not drop then the water is not circulating through the radiator (Tsat closed). You can always turn the AC on to let the fans run to try to watch the temp drop too.

If you're running a fan on the whole time, I'm not surprised you can't get out of the low 80's without driving the car.

I agree with Geoff. If you're running the fan all the time & running just water I can see how it just sits in the low 80's.

I think what it comes down to is I do just need to try to drive around a little bit I did get the temperature of higher originally when I did not have the fan hooked up it almost hit the ninety's

Sounds to me like everything might just be fine.

Seems that you're erring on the side of caution, which is always best. But I don't actually think you have any problems.

guys....a 180F thermostat opens at 82-83C. This is normal operation. My car runs a 180F thermostat and it operates normally at 82-85C depending on temps outside and if I am climbing up and down hills and the speeds I am running at. I also have dual oil coolers.

You car is functioning perfectly normal. This is a good thing!

There are several documented problems with no/ low heat from the heater. Could be partially clogged, or an airmix door problem. How well did your heater work before the engine replacement. The heater does not work well at all in my FD...
