Hey there, am new to the site and have just imported a '94' RX7 type r2 2.6 twin turbo, from japan to the UK. the thermostat was jammed shut and was removed awaitin replacement yet whenever i put it under load it still overheats. If im guessing i would say it was the radiator but im a rotary virgin so dont know for sure whats up. Has anyone had the same problem or knows whats causing it?

 

first of all flush the system and replace with new thermostat and refill..it will take a while to settle as rotarys are bad for airlocks,,try to burp the system by squeezing rad hose when filling.
hope that there is no water coming from the front passenger side plastic tank as this is bad.
when filling system remove ast and central filler cap
fill until ast overflows and replace lid and then refill middle filler and keep burping
