Coolant won't go down after installing new motor??

Don't know if anyone else have experienced this, but her it goes.

Drained all fluids, removed blown engine, installed reman. When trying to add coolant to an empty system, it doesn't seem to want to go in. I was able to get some coolant in (slowly) by repeatedly squeezing the lower radiator hose. Is this a normal occurance when filling an empty system?

I had a little trouble with mine. You can try to take off the TB coolant hose while you pour the first little bit in, that should help out a bit. Also once you get it pretty full, i found if you repeativly pinch the hose commin out of the top of the AST it loweres the coolant level in the filler neck...

Don't know what you have modified on your cooling system?? If mostly stock, remove the rear throttle body coolant line. Fill slowly at ast until no more will go in. Cap ast, and fill at filler neck until full. Replace tb coolant line. Start the engine, and let it warm up. Once warm, shut it down, and let cool.

Repeat. After twice, you should have virtually all the air out of the system.

yup, leave the coolant hose that travels from the rear iron up to the tb disconnected at the tb. keep adding coolant and this will help to burp the system of all air. once you see coolant coming out of the hose, quickly connect it to the tb.
