Coolant system fixed, but ...

Last night I finally got the FD "Junkyard Dog," all put back together. I had tore into it far enough to replace the thermosensor and thermoswitch. The thermosensor wire broke off right at the back of the connector so I wasted about 3 weeks considering what to do before I called Ray Crowe. I should've called him right off the bat.

Anyway, I wound up putting a terminal end on the back of the new thermosensor and silconing it together. Then I soldered the wiring to the terminal and soldered the new wire to the old wire.

So last night I got it all back together, and even put my tailpipe back on. Went to fire it up and ... dead battery.

I put it on the charger for about 1.5 hours (couldn't find my jumper cables ), and it fired right up. So I roll it down the driveway (at about 11:00 pm) and after I'm on the street I notice my tach, speedo, coolant, and oil pressure gages are not working (the back light was on though). Should've noticed it sooner but I didn't.

So I take it back home, don't want to chance anything. This morning I found a blown fuse. It probably happened when I smoked 3 other fuses fartin' around with wiring up my own relays to control the original relays that control the fans. So now the gages should work (didn't have time to check this morning). I dam shore don't know my wiring. I manage to always figure out though. I have a switch inside now that turns my fans on HIGH. But if I don't trip it, the cooling system works as originally designed, or at least it *should* work as designed. The switch is too bright.

After putting it back in the garage, I noticed it has a small coolant leak. I can't tell if its the small hose just below the filler (has leaked there before), or the big hose just below that.

These cars really do have to be babysat. Sorry for the long post, but wanted you guys to know that I'm coming to an understanding of the frustration I see vented here from time to time.

I have now fixed the boost creep and cooling system woes. Next will be the boost spike, and then I'll try to reduce the appearance shittiness level.
