Coolant System ** Steam =X

A friend of mine just contacted me who got his RX7 a few days ago. He said he just got a new radiator and AST and put them in. When he did this he took the car out for maybe a 5 minute jog to see if everythign was holding with no leaks. about 3 minutes into the trip his car starts to show signs of overheating. He got it the rest of the way home but the temps were up around 220-230 and when he finally got it in the garage and the car was off there was some steam coming from what looked like under the throttle body area. Either way He wants to know if he could have caused any major damage or if his engine was already blown. He knows now since I told him that there were air bubbles in the system and it needed to be burped. He said the steam didn't last long and there isn't any coolant under his car but is he ok or is he in some trouble?

I guess while he was out on this little cruise he never got over 2500RPM and never under boost. When the temps started to go up he kept it under 2000rpm

He has a FC but I didn't think it mattered.

Have him find, and check, the coolant lines that go to the throttle body. It is possible that one of those is leaking and might account for the steam that he saw under the TB. Just a guess, but probably worth looking at.

I was thinking the same thing there is a coolant line that connects to the bottom side of the throttle body it may be loose or cracked causing it to leak.
