Coolant Question

I am about to flush my coolant and I was wondering what kind of coolant you guys use before I make my purchase. Thanks for the help.

I use what the manual says to: Ethyline Glycol based coolant. Some guys might suggest some performance brand or another, but I just use the one the local shop carries.

Then mix it at the desired ratio with distilled water. You can, through electrolysis, know the exact ratio to use. I just went with 57% coolant 43% water, based on the average temps and a guess. My temps are rock steady at 185 to 195 fahrenheit (idle and load).

I guess I'd say use anywhere from 50% to 60% coolant.

As said above, the old green ethylene-glycol type is the best. Also VERY important is to use distilled water when flushing and to mix with the coolant. Tap water contains too many minerals, and softened water contains sodium ions, which can accelerate corrosion.

0 psi Evens NPG, would never go back to the cheap stuff. This stuff will protect your engine pass 250 deg with no pressure stress on the cooling system. You do the math.
