Coolant problem
Hey guys,
My add coolant light and that enoying "beeeeeeep" noise aways pops up every time i drive my fd. I warm up the car and wait till the temperature goes to normal then i drive for about 10mins then the noise and the light pops up on the dash to add coolant. The temperature is still on normal so i'm assuming the engines not over heating. I added collant and water and it leaks abit under the car and still shows the says to add coolant. I bought new caps and replaced the olded ones but still the same problem...

Any other symptoms? Hard Starting? Light smoke on first startup of the day? etc.
I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a split coolant hose. Fixed that and haven't seen the problem since.
Also, what are you getting your temps from? Unless you have linearized the stock gauge it is USELESS. I have had my temps as high as 110C on the PFC but the stock gauge still showed "normal" operating temperature.

The car starts ok with a some smoke out of the exhaust and also it backfires on idle while its warming up... before it use to rev up to 3000rpm when i fire it up then drop back down but now it revs to around 1500-2500rpm...
My dad wants to take it to an electrician and remove that enoying sound!!! I'm telling him to leave it and try fix the problem!!

Ahh, you said your getting leaks under the car? Any idea where from? When the pressure builds up in the system (when the car gets hot) a small leak turns into a big leak. You may want to get your car up on a lift or jack stands to look for the leak rather than getting rid of the coolant buzzer.

I had the same problem a couple years ago. The dealership told it was the sensor. They replaced it (around $100) and that fixed the problem. It just recently started leaking a puddle of coolant on the ground under the front passenger corner... that's why I found your post on my search...

same deal with me. turned out to my water pump.. Was really hard to see the leak. It was weeping out of the weep hole down the block and on to one of the hoses so it looked like the like the leak was further forward then it was..
Finally one day on the lift we spoted it and bam new water pump no leak...
