Ok, so here is the deal:

My coolant temp. gauge and my Oil pressure gauge are not working correctly. With both of the gauges wired up and plugged in, when I turn on the key (without starting the car) both gauges immediately peg (max out). I then unplugged both at the sensors and turned key on and nothing happened. After that I plugged in the coolant temp. sensor and started the car and nothing happened to either gauge. I then unplugged the coolant temp. sensor and plugged in the oil pressure sensor and turned the key to the on position and the oil pressure gauge pegged out and the coolant gauge did nothing.

I tried all of this twice using two separate gauge clusters. I also found out which wires on the connectors for the back of the cluster were from the oil pressure sensor and the coolant temp. sensor and snipped them. Then I ran wires directly from the sensors to the gauge cluster with no luck. The gauges did the same thing.

Both the oil pressure sensor and the coolant temp. sensor are brand new rx7 sensors. Do any of you have any suggestions, advice, or knowledge of what could be causing this? I’m getting pretty discouraged and any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is an ls1 swap but that shouldn't matter... all of these are rx7 parts (maybe the car is just mad with me for ditching the 13b...)
