Coolant loss & water temp sensor

My first post. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I was unfortunate enough to have a Goodyear service center do a free pressure test for my car to figure out the loss of coolant from my 93 Touring. There are never any visible spills, I just have to add coolant every 2 weeks or so. (Where does it go?) Well, Goodyear diagnosed a leaking water pump, which I had replaced with OEM. Of course, coolant loss still occurs. AND ALSO, after Goodyear touched the car, the water temp gauge doesn't work properly. It reads cold (needle at bottom) most of the time, and only rises in idle or stop and go traffic. My mechanic has said that it's plugged in properly. Any ideas? One thing - I'll never take it to a non-rotary specialist for "routine" service again.

I'm taking it to the shop soon, but I'm curious to any ideas out there. I'm tired of driving the RX all paranoid of overheating.

Thanks.

Do you get any smoke out of the exhaust at startup?

Do you ever see any coolant drips or puddles under the car?

There's nothing to indicate a leak underneath the car.
There is no smoke on start-up also. Thanks.
