coolant light on/off every 2 or 3 minutes..what will cause this?

coolant light on/off every 2 or 3 minutes..what will cause this?
my coolant light turn on every 2 or 3 minutes and the temp needle goes to hifh and then turn donw again and the light go away what can be the cause of this?

no the coolant is up to the bottom that why im asking the question i dont understand what it going on i thing ill have to flush and check the thermostat too.

If your coolant is full when cold.. but alarm goes off and temp starts to rise.. seems like oyu have a air bubble in system.
