Coolant Issues

hello,

when i drive the car hard and park to let it cool down, and then after waiting a good 2 or 3 minutes with the fans on high, how come there is coolant being spit out from one of the valves?

can anyone help me on this one?

and i always keep an eye on the temp gauge and it doesnt move past 9 o' clock.

i hope i dont need a new engine

The first thing to do is to get a new radiator (AST) cap. The second thing is to get a water temp gauge or modify the stock one to be linear. The stock gauge, as from the factory, is nearly worthless. It will sit at about 9:00 from about 130F to over 225F.

EDIT: Actually, when you say coolant is spitting out of one of the "valves", where are you talking about? My response above assumed that your overflow tank is spitting it out.
