OH Coolant hose quick coupler?? This thing sux

Just curious, anyone ever replace this goofy quick coupler on the driver side rear section. Comes from heater core hardline to plastic quick coupler. I dont like this
thing, any suggestions?

i think you can take it off and put the hose on the metal.

There is a debate on whether they are needed or not. Many people run without them without any ill effects. If you decide to do so, you'll most likely need to use two hose clamps to make sure you have a good seal on the pipe.

I removed mine during a rebuild two years ago with no issues...but definitely use two good worm-gear clamps.

I removed mine after a week of owning the car.
just took it off and put the coolant hose on the metal tube from the block and a good t-bolt style hose clamp on.

I got rid of it too many years ago with no problems. Just double clamp it and its fine.
