coolant and air temp sensors

Hello all
On the stock coolant temp & air temp sensors does it matter what wire is power and other sensor return? I'm trying to wire in my Elite 1000 using a fast reacting temp sensor and stock coolant temp sensor. I'm just not sure if it matters what wire get power or ground. I have searched and looked at the wire diagram but am not able to draw conclusive info. Thanks for the help and mods please move this if necessary

+1, temperature sensors are non-directional so you can wire them either way.

You might be mixing up the terminology, but one of the wires is the 'temperature signal' and the other wire should be 'sensor ground'. Don't connect 12V power or 5V sensor reference power to a temperature sensor.

Sensors

Thanks for the replies. My terminology was incorrect. I'll be connecting the signal wire from the Haltech labeled coolant temp and signal ground and same for air temp sensor.
