Converting to Left Hand Drive

Hey,

No, I'm not planning on importing and FD's from Japan. I am however, thinking about importing an FD front clip for my old skool race car project.

If I were to use all the stuff I need to mount the engine and axle/suspension parts to the race car, how hard would it be to convert the JDM front axle to left hand drive? Would I be able to use most of the parts that came with the front clip (steering column, rack and pinion, axles, suspension arms, brakes)? Would there be a problem with fit between the JDM engine and the left side steering system? Thanks for your help.

Will

There won't be a problem with the Japanese motor fitment in a LHD car, but you couldn't "convert" a RHD Japanese rack to LHD.

So all the parts from the suspension assembly of the front clip would be useless?

I don't think so ... it's just the steering rack. The steering racks are complete opposites between the LHD and RHD ... like a mirror image, which is why you couldn't use the RHD one for a LHD car. The suspension should be symmetric and useful. So use a LHD rack, and everything else should be butters.

Hey,

that's good new to hear. But if you're wrong i'm driving down to Chapel Hill and I'm going to fight you, hehe. Are JDM steering columns the same as US in terms of where all the turn signal stalks and switches and stuff are? Thanks again.
