control unit question

ok i did some searching could not find anything about this, the control unit (what its labeled) is located next to the ecu on the factory computer its bolted to it. ne ways my friend went single turbo in his fd and i over looked his wiring into the ecu. i noticed that this unit was completley removed, his car was built at kdr in penn, im going down the same route but am doing it all myself im 90 percent there, my question is what does this do? is it nedded to be removed to go single? thanks.

Sounds like it is part of the factory ecu. If that is true then it may positively be removed b/c you will need some sort of stand-alone ecu to go single. I have never seen such a box next to my pfc.

Ah, I guess I have never noticed that box. Maybe I have it, maybe I don't. I really have not had a need to get in there but a few times.

It does sound like the rad-fan box, yes. It's purpose is simply to run the fans for something like 5 minutes after the key has been turned off if the coolant has been above a certain temperature for a certain number of minutes before shutdown.
