Considering buying yellow R1 from PFS

Hi, I'm new to the forums Been interested in rx-7 for a while... and thinking about buying one.
I saw two 93 RX-7 R1 at PFS.
Should I buy the car? It's on their website. www.pfsupercars.com Is the price right?
And one more question... Is it better to buy a FD with rebuilt or new engine or orginal motor? Thanks~

It is better to buy an FD with a new or rebuilt motor in it, cause if it hasn't been done you will be doing it soon.

You will pay a little more from pfs, but I have heard nothing but good things about the used cars Peter sells, the cars are inspected and all turbo problems are fixed when you get it.

Beside they do know a little about RX-7s. If you want to save money you can go to autotrader.

I suppose if you have lots of money go for it. I'll be selling mine in a week or two for almost half of what they want. Email / PM me if interested. I'm in Northern VA.

I bought a 93 base from pfs last summer and have been fairly pleased. No huge problems and every part he said had been rebuilt or replaced has been great. I did have the air pump go up (nothing he could do, it had 75k on it. just happens). Also had an a/c leak which he tried to work with me on and refilled it. It all leaked out again though. I just decided to fix it myself. And about the boost being perfect...my boost is good in warm weather although it gets up to 11 sometimes on my stock car, but in the cold it creeps up to about 12. I bought it in the summer so I am sure when he tested it, the car was boosting fine. I think i just need to port the wastegate. So all in all, I am satisfied. A couple of the hoses on the tie wrap job (they had also done the hoses) weren't tie wrapped down under the manifold, but peter explained to me that those hoses can't pop off because they are just a short length and would just slide a bit further onto the opposing connector. Don't know how true that is, but i haven't had a problem. I got a pretty good deal on a nice clean car which he actually said if he had thought about it more, he would have sold it for more. (maybe just selling talk). Also he said he serviced the car for it's whole existence and it had only had one owner but i was never able to get him to show me any paperwork. But i am satisfied. I will also mention that every problem i told him about he made at least some sort of effort to fix.

Also, keep in mind that the pictures on the website ARE NOT always the actual car that is being sold. They two yellow r1s are the same pic. So you must go see it in person before buying. When I went he had 3 black ones and I ended up with the one I liked the best at the price. Interesting that he is now selling supras and bmws. If you have any questions about my experience with pfs feel free to pm me.

I bought my CMY 93 off a used car lot in town for $14,500 with 75,000 miles on it two years ago. So you might want to look around a bit.

I got my yellow FD for $11.5K, all stock but for a silly aftermarket glass sunroof. Shop around, stay away from the 'car nut' people, to get a bluebook type of price.

huh
if having gone through the vac hose job...wouldnt it take less time than sneezing to add a couple of tie wraps and cost of a whole 2 cents for him to do?
..and he showed you the rat's nest before buying? woah

Seems a little pricy just to have a CYM. I'd rather spend equal money for a built up FD off the parts trader.

Here are pics I took of the CYM with lower miles(68k). If you have any questions PM me. I hope it finds a good owner.
