Hey guys, im new to these forums...
I'm interested in buying a 1993 rx-7 r1 for $10,000 from a friend (has 70-80k miles). Ive seen it on the outside and the interior and it is very clean. It needs a new radiator but besides that he says it runs pretty solid.
I am still considering whether to buy this or not. I'm well aware of the pampering that this kind of motor needs. And i have read many reviews that suggest this car is just bound to give out. I guess what I'm looking for is for someone to pursuade me to buy this car hehe. Anything that would help me make up my mind. If i dont go with the rx-7 i'd probably go with a regular 4 door like an audi or bmw. Thanks guys

you know what,
I was skeptical at first because I got a lot of negatives about the car, seems like no one lists the positives. Yes it will need TLC (and a generous wallet) but a day driving my FD is better than a day at the pharmacy. If you truly love the car and are willing to do a little work, GO FOR IT!

oh yah, I'm sure this question has been asked before but does anyone know any reputable rotary mechanic in the orange county area (preferably southern OC), CA.
Thanks for the link Mahjik.

I got offered a 60,000mi RX7 R1 for $10,000, but it hasn't moved in two years or so. The guy thinks the coolant seal needs to be replaced and ditto for the twins.
