Condensation in filler neck
Condensation in filler neck
Guys,
How do i stop condensation in the oil filler neck ? After a hard drive i can remove the filler cap and shake the water off ! Its not coolant cos thats bright green in my car - this is clear water. Trouble is its combining with the oil on the filler cap and making that kind of white residue that scares piston owners to death....but the car is fine ! No coolant loss, drives well etc.
Is there a breather system that connects to the filler neck ? If so where?
Cheers
Chris

DOH, here we go again! Just ignore it. It is part of life like farting.
If it really does bother you, then eveytime you park your car , remove the cap and oil dipstick to help the moisture to escape. Else do not drive your car for short distances when the weather is cold.

The things you are describing are normal and you shouldn't worry about it. Sometimes you will even see like a yellow/orange color under the filler neck, which is also normal. Most likely you will notice it when it's cold outside.
