Comfused About Pulley Position

I was driving and heard a noise that sounded like a rock underneat my car. it turned out to be the nut that holds the idler pulley together. i pulled over and found the pulley inside the engine bay. now im am trying to find the replacement nut and whatever holds the pulley in place on to the long bolt. what comfuses me is that the pictures ive seen on the forum show the pulley installed backwards from the way mine was on the car(picture below). ive never taken it off so im wodnering why its on that way?? my FD is 94. also is there a bushing of some sort that goes inside the pulley????
thanks!

There's a "washer" that sits inside that nut, and rides against the bearing on the outside.
