Cold air intake

I have a 93 with a downpipe and a PMS. I am looking to install a cold air induction system and a catback exhaust. I was told that I need to upgrade the intercooler if I go with those minor mods. Is that true or does someone just want to sell me an intercooler? Also any suggestions on the intake and exhaust?

You can safely do 3 mods before you need to change the ECU ... most people tend to do downpipe, intake and catback.

You won't need to upgrade the IC for a while yet ..

Uhh, he says he has an ECU, albeit a somewhat outdated one, but with proper tuning it will get the job done.

wmrobert, you do not need to get an IC with the mods that you want to do, it would be nice to keep your intake charge cooler with one, but it is not necessary if all you want to do is add an exhaust and intake, just be sure to get your car dyno tuned (wide band lambda for your O2 readings. Not to sure if the PMS is just tuned for a DP or not, but if you add a catback and intake you should change the maps on the ECU by dyno tuning. Have fun!
