Clutch Removal Question

Alright,

Its been a while since I've worked on my car but I want to go ahed and get it out so I can clean it up.

I recently pulled my engine, and while pulling it we had to remove 6 bolts from my clutch in order to pull the engine out...

The pressure plate came off fine, but now I want to pull out the clutch it self. The part with the throw out bearing.... Is there somthing I need to unhook or is it just a prying motion???

When I tried pulling really hard, it pulls but goes right back when I stop pulling on it, it seems like its still attached somwhere... Sorry if I'm really not making any sense because I'm reallly not sure what the hell I'm looking for exactly..

from what i understand, the pilot bearing is very difficult to remove without the special service tool. you can buy one for about $100 from a couple different places or if you are lucky enough to find someone who has one, borrow it. Dont know if that helps your problem because i havent replaced my clutch yet.

The clutch is just wedge between the pressure plate and the flywheel, nothing should be holing it anywhere if the pressure plate is unbolted from the fly wheel. And As far as i see it you def need a mazda puller, i tried with other things for like 4 hours and barrowed a puller and did it in 2 minutes.

This is so easy with first you need the $199688845 ,sst right. Hold the bearing and push the clutch disk in toward the bearing the pry retaining ring off carefully, because it is costly The tool to use may be the small free screw driver in the nurds pocket protector .

Im confused, the original poster never mentions anything about a pilot bearing.

He is talking about the throwout bearing if I am reading correctly.
